Mas de Figuières is a beautifully restored stone mas set across several levels, surrounded by open countryside with sweeping panoramic views. With five bedrooms sleeping ten, it's the perfect place for families or groups of friends to slow down, unwind, and simply be together.
Everything here is designed for relaxation — shaded terraces for reading, sunny balconies for doing nothing at all, a large private swimming pool to cool off in, and a quiet walled garden where time gently drifts. This is a house for letting go.
When you're ready to explore, the garrigue landscape opens up with walking trails in every direction. El Rancho restaurant is just a short stroll from the house for evenings when you'd rather not cook. The medieval village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a short drive away, Montpellier is under an hour for restaurants, markets and nightlife, and the Mediterranean coast is easily within reach for a day at the beach.
La Vacquerie sits at the heart of one of the most exciting wine regions in France. The Languedoc has been producing wine since Roman times, and the Terrasses du Larzac appellation — where altitude, wild garrigue and cool nights produce reds of exceptional depth — is widely regarded as its finest. Three producers are right in the village: Domaine de Ferrussac, an organic estate combining wine and Aubrac cattle; Mas Haut-Buis, whose old-vine reds have earned international acclaim; and Clos Maïa, a biodynamic domaine crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines. All welcome visitors for tastings.
